Reportedly 28-30 ft tidal waves were pounding California's coastal line during the December 28-30th window. For those who question the term "tidal wave":

The term "tidal wave" is often used to refer to tsunamis; however, this reference is incorrect as tsunamis have nothing to do with tides..."
