This video was made in the incredible private library of American entrepreneur, inventor, and founder of several technology and information companies, most notably Priceline.com, Jay Walker. I have worked for Jay on several of his projects and he is a brilliant and generous man. I asked him to give a tour of his library which he titled, the Library Of Human Imagination” to my sons, and this is a portion of the tour.

Beyond his achievements in the business world, Walker is also recognized for his diverse interests in science, technology, and the arts, which have led him to become a prolific collector and curator of human knowledge and innovation.

The Library of Human Imagination is one of Jay’s most fascinating ventures. It is a private library located in his home in Ridgefield, Connecticut, designed to showcase the breadth and depth of human creativity and invention. The library is not public, but it has been featured in various media outlets and documentaries, highlighting its unique design and the eclectic collection it houses.

The Library of Human Imagination contains an extensive collection of artifacts, books, and historical items that span the fields of art, science, history, technology, and beyond. Its purpose is to inspire wonder and creativity, reflecting on the myriad ways humans have understood and shaped the world around them. The collection includes everything from rare manuscripts and scientific instruments to cultural artifacts and pieces of technology that have changed the world.

The design of the library itself is a testament to Walker's vision, featuring a multilevel, visually stimulating environment that incorporates cutting-edge lighting and display technologies. The space is crafted to stimulate thought and discussion, embodying the idea that innovation is at the crossroads of different disciplines and perspectives.

Jay Walker's Library of Human Imagination serves as a personal testament to his belief in the power of curiosity, learning, and interdisciplinary thinking. It is a physical manifestation of the idea that human progress is driven by imagination, creativity, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge.
