I order a new pison and rings for the 1978 Yamaha DT100, and that did the trick! I've got good compression again, and it's consistently starting first kick now! It's such a great feeling doing it all yourself, and I understand to some of you out there that could do this blindfolded good for you, but I'm self taught on everything down to how to turn a wrench and swing a hammer. I didn't have a dad that really showed me anything mechanical, but he taught me how a lot of other things like how to do it yourself.
