These step-by-step instructions and video detail how to replace the headlight bulbs on a 2010 Ford Focus SE, and the replacement steps will be similar to 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 Ford Focus models. Replacing a burned out or failing headlight bulb helps you see clearly, follow road laws, and lets other drivers know of your vehicle’s presence on the road. If your Focus’s headlight bulbs are burned out or malfunctioning, you should replace both headlight bulbs together since they will likely fail at around the same time. O’Reilly Auto Parts carries headlight bulbs, tail light bulbs, and other exterior light bulbs for your Ford Focus to help you make your repairs.

The headlights on your Ford Focus help you see where you’re going in poor weather or darkness, and are required by law to work properly. Changing a dim, flickering, or burned out headlight bulb on your 2004-2011 Ford Focus is a simple repair that can help you see better while driving. It’s recommended that when changing one headlight bulb, the other should be replaced as well, since both bulbs have been used for the same amount of time and will likely fail around the same age. Failing headlight bulbs on your Ford Focus can make it difficult for other drivers to see your vehicle on the road, and could put you and others in danger. Our detailed instructions can help you perform a headlight bulb replacement on your Ford Focus to keep you safe on the road.

Park on a level surface… and make sure your headlight switch and ignition switch are turned off.
Never turn on your headlights with the bulb removed.
Open your hood.
The headlight assembly is held in place by three 10mm bolts, one of which is under the grille.
So we’ll start by using a flathead screwdriver to remove the four push pins along the top that keep the grille in place.
Once they’re removed, you should be able to take the grille off.
After removing it, use your 10mm socket to remove the three bolts securing the headlight assembly.
Now you should be able to release the whole assembly by pulling up to disengage the spring clip at the bottom.
Your screwdriver may help if you’re having trouble.
The assembly will still be electrically connected at the bulbs, so just lift it enough to get to the bulb that needs to be changed.
Disengage the electrical connector… then twist the base of the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly.
Remember when you handle your new headlight bulbs not to touch them with your bare hands.
Finger oil or grease can cause hot spots on the glass that may make the bulbs burn out prematurely.
To install the new bulb, insert it… and turn it clockwise into place.
