This is a video discussing Halo and its consideration as an Arena Shooter. For a long time Halo has been considered apart of the Arena Shooter genre along with other FPS titles such as Quake, Unreal Tournament, Reflex, Doom, and countless other titles that also share the distinction. This commentary and analysis will discuss the accuracy of Halo's position amongst these titles and discuss why I believe the genre to not be a proper representation for what Halo is. It will discuss topics such as map movement, sandbox design, the utility weapon, Halo Infinite, even starts, on map pick ups, mobility options, speed/cadence, and overall gameplay.

This video was inspired by a conversation that was had a few months ago and was passed around on twitter, r/halo, and even responded to by former Halo Bungie Devs such as Hardy Lebel.

Gameplay featured includes Halo CE, Halo 3, Halo 2, and various B-Roll from Quake, Quake Champions, Reflex, Unreal Tournament, and other Arena Shooter titles.
