Many scholars, past and present, opine that this town was Antioch (Antakiya). It was ruled by a king, by the name of Anteekhas Ibn Anteekhas, who used to worship idols, so Allah [S] sent to them three prophets, who were Sadiq, Masdooq and Shaloom. But the people rejected all of them. It was quite apparent that they were all prophets sent from God to guide the people. But the rejected, watch to see what happened.
