DC are in a strange position, with a new leader (David Zaslav) taking over Warner Bros-Discovery, this has led to the cancellation of Batgirl and the future of other DC Extended Universe (DCEU) projects are now up in the air. The new boss has come with a new 10 year strategy to focus on quality and the main DC heroes. So what is the future for DC and where do they go now?

Here's my pitch for the next Justice League film.

Following Comic-Con 2022, DC only showed two projects Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson got booed on stage for implying Superman may change and Comic-con didn't look the best for DC. We also see Ezra Miller, star of The Flash, facing more legal issues putting their movie in jeopardy. Plus Ben Affleck is returning to the role of Batman for Aquaman 2 (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom) also making The Flash's decision to replace Batman with Michael Keaton even weirder.

My pitch is to have James Gunn lead the DCEU setting up a Justice League vs The Suicide Squad movie, which will help to unify the universe and explain some of the decisions made.

This will reunite Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), The Flash (currently Ezra Miller who should be recast) plus adding in new heroes like Shazam (Zachary Levi) and Blue Beetle (Xolo Maridueña).

They will face off against the government sanction Suicide Squad like Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Bloodsport (Idris Elba) and Peacemaker (John Cena). Black Adam will join the team to lead the fight.

The future for Zack Snyder in this universe is currently unknown but it seems unlikely, as DC want to take things in a new direction with a soft reboot.
