Lennox is one of the most popular brands for central heating and air conditioning. In this video, we will go over the air conditioning offerings by Lennox. The goal of this video is to demystify the products available so that you as the homeowner can make a better decision. Let’s get started.

Here I am at the Lennox website. We will start by going to the homeowner's solutions. One thing that you will find out about Lennox is that they have a lot of products.Twelve air conditioners to be more precise.

Lennox has three lines for their products. Merit, Elite, and Signature. The Merit line is the most affordable. They are the standard level for central air conditioning. The Elite line the mid-tier products. They offer great features at reasonable prices. The Signature line is the Rolls Royce of central air conditioners. For those that can afford the signature and want the very best of the best products available, this is the line for them.

Lennox produces all of their Elite and Signature products in the United States. The Merit line is made in Mexico and so the cost is a bit lower.

The first model in the Merit line is the 13ACX. This is the entry level product for Lennox. In California, this product is not available because of the SEER level. California requires a minimum of 14 SEER. This product is available in other states. You will notice that this model is a single stage operation. This means that the system will turn full power to reach the desired cooling temperature. Once the temperature is reached, it will turn off. It will turn on again when needed. With the single stage system, you will get the cooling you need. You just have to deal with the noise of the system turning on and off.

The ML14XC1 is a single stage system. It is similar to the 13ACX model. The only difference is the SEER rating. This system is designed to be 14 SEER but depending upon the configuration, you can get up to 17 SEERs.

The 16ACX model is the least expensive two stage system that Lennox offers. A two stage system has two motors. When you first turn it on, it will go full power. When the temperature is reached, it will turn off half of its power and coast along. The benefit of a two stage system is that it does not turn on and off. This leads to a much lower noise level than a single stage system. This particular model is rated at 16 to 17 SEERs.

The XC13 and the EL16XC1 models are both single stage air conditioners. The Elite line has better insulation on the compressor outside than the Merit line. As a result, the noise level is much lower. The main difference between these two systems is the SEER rating. The EL16XC1 is the model that we sell the most. It has the perfect balance between noise level, SEER rating, and price. We believe that this is the best value for money product that Lennox offers.

The EL18XCV is a new model from Lennox. It is the first truly variable speed air conditioner available in the Elite line. A single stage system has one motor that turns on and off. A two stage system has two motors that can turn on full power or coast at half speed. Using this same analogy a variable system has 50 different modes. So if you need 9% you can get 9%. If you need 70%, the unit will produce precisely the cooling that you need. A single stage system will cool your house but the temperature indoors can differ from the thermostat by 3 to 5 degrees. A two system system will have a difference of 2 to 3 degrees. A variable system will give you precise temperature within 1 degree.

Lennox is the most recognizable brand for central heating and air conditioning in the United States. If you go to Costco or Home Depot, you will see them present the Lennox system. This is a solid HVAC system and is on the higher side in terms of cost relative to the rest of the market. Lennox dealers are well trained and they are highly selective on who can be a Lennox Premier dealer. The number of people with access to the signature line is limited to ensure quality of the technicians as well as exclusivity.
