There are multiple reasons for replacing a derailleur cage:
-the cage has been damaged
-you want to convert it to a long cage or a short cage to accept the right size cassette.
-you want to upgrade your stock cage to an Oversized Pulley Wheel System to save some extra watts and for the stunning looks of it!

It is a very simple job with only one tool needed, a Torx T10. In this case I am upgrading the derailleur from a stock cage to an Absolute Black HOLLOWcage
