Artifact was a news aggregation app that used artificial intelligence to personalize your feed and offer social features. Launched in January 2023 by Nokto, Inc., a company founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, the co-founders of Instagram, the app was hailed as a “TikTok for text” and a competitor to Twitter. However, after less than a year of operation, Artifact announced that it would be shutting down, citing a lack of market opportunity and user growth.
