Steering too much actually makes your car worse at turning, believe it or not. I see it happening regularly especially amongst inexperienced/slower drivers. If you're doing this to even a small degree, today will be a good day because you're about to lift the lid on better laptimes if you can train yourself out of it.

Note: If you just happen to recognise your virtual arms as one of the example drivers, please don't take it as an insult - every single sim racer has grappled with this habit at some previous stage, myself included, and this video is made to help people find it and squash it.
