This is a very emotional experience for me and I will detail why below.

3 Months, over 10K attempts, too many hardware/software issues, chokes, and utter failures to count. When I posted the video “This is my Last Galaxy Collapse Video” I had already taken OVER a month off. I lost the ability to do the drops (fast parts). I refocused on going back to fundamentals, clearing songs I hadn’t on strict difficulty. I grinded fundamentals for a month. Most importantly, I had fun again.

The run before the FC was my worst choke yet. A 97%. A miss when there was pretty much nothing left to miss. While there is a small intro between, these attempts were back to back. I simply laughed at my choke and got right back on the horse. The reason I was saying “out” before the drops was to remind myself of the new outward rolling technique I was using that was more consistent than my old method.

If you’re unaware, this game has brutal timing windows and absolutely no forgiveness. If you miss one note completely (you are permitted 2 “overpresses” which are counted as “misses” on the results screen) you fail. So playing a song like this is very mentally taxing.

It would not have been possible without the unyielding support of the ADOFAI community. Seeing the support in chat time and time again after each failure and finally delivering that emotional moment just really caused me to lose it. It’s just a game to most, but after 17 years of rhythm games and never amounting to anything in the rhythm game community, I felt like this one was finally the one.
