Hi. My name is Martin and I am an ordinary human being trying to escape the matrix and make something good out of this live. In this short movie i am sharing 5 years of my life in 55 minutes film that i've assembled with clips and videos i filmed in my past. I am really proud of this movie and i really needed to reflect on it. I hope you find my story interesting and get some value out of it. Enjoy.
"I’ll tell you my story, but before that left me ask a few questions…
If you look into the past, for the last 5 years are you happy with what you have achieved? Are you a good investment of yourself? Has your health improved? Is your ability to connect with people better? Do you earn more money now? Are you happy with where you are right now? Are you mad because of the pollution? Are you thinking of quitting your job like I did and move somewhere else, or you see it too risky? Or maybe, Are you ungrateful for what you have in life and perhaps this is the reason of your unhappiness? What is your future? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Is it based on the past? I know that The universe doesn’t care about our past. And it doesn’t change who we can become in the future. Our past, is who we are today but it doesn’t define our future. You can live in one place for 5 years, tear that page and go live somewhere else in the next 5 years, like Jim Rohn use to say you are not a tree right?
Now, these and many other questions were bombarding me all day long. And that was not the case 5 years ago, things back then were kind of more simple and less perplexed …
Since I moved in Malta in July 2014 many things have changed. Mostly the way I think and feel about myself. And I guess it’s normal right?
And guys this channel is not about Malta. And for everyone asking, guys sorry but I am not a recruiter and I cannot find you a job or accommodation. So I would encourage you to unsubscribe, if you are here only for that.
So a bit of my story. At the age of 21, I arrived on the island with 200 euro in my pocket, and 1000 euro in dept. But Thanks to my brother, who was in Malta for some time, I didn’t need to worry about most of the things, so I was a smooth start for me. At the time my brother lived in a studio with his girlfriend, so we had to sleep 3 people in one bed. Yes, it was uncomfortable, but hey we all find difficulties in the beginning. My brother helped me with most of the basics, finding a job and getting started. But we had some conflicts along the way so it didn’t take long for me to move out when I first got the chance. That was inevitable. Since we are from different fathers, we have very different characters.
Anyway I have to admit it, working as a waiter for 4.56 euro per hour part time, sux. But sometimes, especially in the beginning there is no other way. Especially without any specialized knowledge. You just have to take it like it comes. Well I still remember the way I felled back then. Ambitious, vibrant and full with vitality. Now all these feelings are gone. It’s like a new toy that you’ve played with it for quite some time and now are bored of it. Like when buying a new phone or car. The excitement is gone.
But I believe I can bring back those emotions, I just need the same trigger to activate them. Which is perhaps a new country…
Don’t get me wrong. I’ve achieved a lot here. And the reason I am planning to leave is so I can prove to myself, is all these because of me? Or is it because of the country? When you succeed or fail in life, is this because of the circumstances, the people, the country – or is it because of you? What do you think? Drop a comment.
Now I understand that we all need to be thankful for all we have and those that helped us, but if we don’t take responsibility for our success, and if we keep tethering it to the job we do, the people we know and the countries we live, we are going to be ruled by fear and we will never be..."
