PRINCETON, N.J. - The debut dual meet for new head coach Joe Dubuque was without question "wild" as his current team and his alma mater engaged in a back and forth dual meet that went down to the final match before the visiting Indiana Hoosiers escaped with an 18-15 win at Jadwin Gym.

Each team won five bouts, but bonus points in favor of the Hoosiers at 174 pounds and in the final bout at 141 were the difference.

A pair of Princeton freshmen secured wins in their first home dual meets, with Eligh Rivera starting the dual off with some fireworks at 149 in the form of a 7-4 (SV) decision victory over No. 8 Graham Rooks and 125-pounder Drew Heethuis scoring a 10-8 decision which momentarily gave the Tigers a 15-11 lead.

No. 10 Luke Stout, No. 28 Nate Dugan and Matt Cover provided the other victories for the Tigers.

Eligh Rivera rallied for the biggest win of his young career, overcoming a 3-1 deficit after two period to tie the match with a takedown of his own with under 0:10 remaining in the third period. In overtime, it took Rivera a while to finish the winning takedown but he was able to bring Rooks to the mat with 0:35 left in the extra period and bring the Jadwin crowd to its feat.

The Hoosiers won the next three bouts to build an 11-3 lead, all wins from ranked wrestlers. No. 17 Brayton Lee connected on a first period takedown and that was enough for a 3-2 decision over Rocco Camillaci who pushed Lee to the final whistle, drawing one stall call but not able to get another or finish the winning takedown.

At 165, No. 11 Derek Gilcher scored a pair of takedowns en route to an 8-1 win over Blaine Bergey. No. 9 D.J. Washington followed with a 19-3 technical fall win at 174 to give Indiana an 11-3 lead after four weights.

The Tigers went on a four-bout winning streak to regain the lead which eventually built to 15-11.

No. 28 Nate Dugan scored four takedowns and a reversal on his way to a 15-10 decision over Roman Rogotzke at 184. Dugan actually trailed, 4-3, after one period but blitzed his way to a 9-7 lead after two before scoring two more takedowns in the third.

After intermission, No. 10 Luke Stout gutted his way to a 3-1 win over Gabe Sollars. After a scoreless first period, Stout worked a reversal in the second before riding Sollars the entire third period for the win.

Matt Cover followed with an exciting 5-4 win over No. 32 Nick Wilhelm at heavyweight. Wilhelm scored a takedown with 0:40 remaining to take a 4-1 lead, but a quick escape from Cover and a takedown with 0:12 remaining turned the tide for three more points for Princeton.

Freshman Drew Heethuis did not need to work a comeback to pick up his first career dual meet win, scoring a pair of first-period takedowns and working the escapes required to pick up a 10-8 decision.

A win in either of the final two bouts would have locked up the dual meet for the Tigers, but Indiana denied the storybook finish to the opener for Dubuque. At 133, Cayden Rooks scored eight points in the third period on a reversal and two takedowns for an 8-1 decision over Sean Pierson which cut Princeton's lead to 15-14. Fongaro followed with four takedowns in a 15-1 win over Tyler Vazquez.
