The Bison bits
This truck is technically a ZR2 with the AEV Bison package
AEV is American Expeditionary Vehciles
Basically this thing is overland ready out of the box
The Bison package adds
Steel bumpers front and rear
With steel integrated recovery hooks
Upgraded skid plates all under the body
Upgraded 18 in wheels
Full size spare
Floor liners
Rock rails
And some branding on the bedside and headrests
No rear bumper step
With bison bumper you lose rear bumper foot cutout
But you get one on the front now…
Also AEV on license plate WI law, backup badging
The offroad kit
4x4 std..obviously
Lo range transfer case..obviously
Then all that protection from the AEV bumpers, skids, and rock rails
33 in goodyear Wrangler M/T tires
Front and rear locking diffs
This is the big deal here…something ZR2 brings
Hill descent
The engine
GM’s 6.2L V8…love to see it
Can’t get that in a raptor or Tundra
420 hp
460 lbft
15 mpg comb
Only let dudes with medals work on your engine
Suspension
An extra 2 in lift from normal Silverados
Multimatic DSSV shocks
More wheel travel more articulation (offroad)
Nicer ride on road
Same dampers used on military vehicles
The Angles
Revised front bumper for approach
32.5
11.2 in clearance
Breakover
Rerouted exhaust
Departure 23.4
The bowties
Not a single gold one
Front grille flowtie - for more air intake
Red rimmed for ZR2 color
Bowtie in side of headlight
Rear tailgate black
Steering wheel black
Vent tabs look like bowties to me
Shark fin
Usually centered in back
Offset to driver side front (GM thing)
Teen driver mode
Lol
Buckle to drive
Wont shift out of park without seatbelts on
Home buttons
Physical right next to digital
Trailering menu
Guest trailer, not secondary
Grille & face
Whole new grille for ZR2
Big gloss black
LEd running lights look cool
They’re sequential LEDs
When projectors are on they have a tab
LD fog lights
Tailgate
Multiflex tailgate lowkey dope
Two buttons, but shape tells you
Matte black sticker for Bison, not on ZR2
Badging
Bed step in bumpers removed
Still have handle
375 lb weight limit
Dont drive with it all down (doesnt lock)
Hole under license plate
Bed
5.5 foot only config***
Tonneau added cost
Payload 1440 lbs
Single outlet
ZR2 stamped in bed back
Towing
8800 lbs
Durapaint
On lower part of cab to protect
“Red hot” paint color btw
Fender badge
ZR2
With ZR2 red
Get a diff color to make this pop
Do white and red trucks scream construction?
Interior colors and materials
Jet black color
Makes more sense tha nthe AT4x white
Yellow stitching…weird that ext is red..
Ronald
Washable…not with a garden hose
Screens
12 in digital cluster
Weird no bison or AEV graphic on start
HUGE HUD
Loads of info
Upgraded 15 in center screen
13.4 in std
Wireless ACP & AA
Google built in
Great 360 cameras
Trails
Trailering
Multiple things on screen at once
Digital rear view
Nice to have if bed is loaded
Blinker sound
This isn’t a mustang but sounds like galloping
Sunroof
No pano option at all
But no sunroof here at all…on an 85k truck
Door cards
Dimpled like golf ball
Yellow stitching
Auto up/down only for front seats…booo
Steering wheel
Nice and heated
Usual stuff on front
6 buttons on the BACK of it
Confusing unless you’re used to it
Headlights
Not in screen, unlike Colorado
Drive modes
3 modes
Normal
Offroad
Terrain
Real low speed crawling
Used this in NC for the Canyon…awesome mode
No sport mode…seems a little odd
Wanted more zip and sound from the V8
Seats
Two tone w/ yellow stitching
Heated and cooled
AEV in headrest, nothing in normal ZR2
Rear seats
HUGE space
Hidden seatback compartments…love
Heated rear seats
Grab handle and shirt hanger separate
Bottom of seats fold up for storage
Assembly
38% of total parts come from Mexico
Final assembly in Mexico
Makes the toyota Tundra more American
If you care about that sort of thing
Price
ZR2 is 71,500 starting
Bison package adds ~8 grand
As tested this thing is 85k
That’s too much personally
That is proper Raptor money
