Here's look under the hood and underneath the 6th generation Honda CR-V.

The Honda CR-v is Honda's mainstream entry as a cross-over utility vehicle. It has a 1.5L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission. Front suspension offers up a McPherson strut design while the rear suspension uses a multi-link design.

In this video we take a closer look at sub-components of the Honda CR-V including the ignition, air, fuel, cooling, lubrication, drive belt, transmission, drivetrain, brakes and suspension systems.

Overall the Honda CR-V is a solid entry to the segment mechanically, offering higher than average build quality and design decisions. However, the 2.0L naturally aspirated hybrid model might be mechanically simpler if a potential buyer is looking for longer term reliability without the complexity of a CVT and turbo.
