The Editor in MS Word gives you an editor score and insights into things like spelling, grammar, clarity, conciseness, punctuation conventions, and vocabulary. The free Microsoft Word Editor also check for similarity to online sources, albeit to a limited extent. The Editor can also provide you with insights into the readability of the content by giving you readability statistics such as number of words, characters, sentences and paragraphs; average number of words per sentence, sentences per paragraph, and characters per word; and readability scores from scales such as the Flesch Reading Ease and the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level scales and the percentage of the document consisting of passive sentences.
