Monrovia, Liberia: lobster on the beach anyone?

This West African capital city has the title of being one of the wettest you’ll ever visit with annual rainfall often exceeding a whopping 5000mm per year. But of course the lobsters don’t mind the rain. They are a Monrovian speciality & are served on the beach here & along with bustling markets & the Du river, a visit to this former colony of the American Colonization Society is a fascinating experience.

Also featuring in this video are the sights but more notably sounds of a bunch of growing & young Liberian musical talent in the form of a local brass band conducted & directed by my colleague & pilot James Trott who for over a decade now has used music and in particular brass instruments as a way to educate youngsters here.
