This was how Queen Elizabeth II opened her speech at a luncheon to mark her and Prince Philip's twenty-fifth wedding anniversary at the Guildhall, London in 1972. This is probably my favourite of the jokes and comical references made publicly by Her late Majesty. It demonstrated an awareness of the parodies made of her, and her ability to 'laugh' along with them.
