Collecting souvenir stamps is a really fun (and free!) thing to do in Japan. This video includes where to find stamps, stamp books, and other related things like goshuin and hanko stamps.

In Tokyo and around Japan there are souvenir stamps at train stations (both the metro, overground trains and the shinkansen), tourist attractions, museums and some shops. There are even stamps at the airport! Everyone's welcome to stamp whatever you want as a souvenir - and it's free! I'd recommend collecting them in a stamp book. Mine's from Neko Neko Post (run by @sharlainjapan and her friend Ushka). Sometimes there are also stamp rallies, and you can collect goshuin from temples and shrines, which are special stamps decorated with Japanese calligraphy and brushwork.
