Are you an expert? Really?

On this week's Sun Spot Straight Up podcast, Scott Brooks of the Sun shares his thoughts about the ever-growing tendency of people in society to believe they are the expert ... on everything. Whether it be about education, medicine, finances, or legal matters, just to name a few, real experts are often treated as the enemy and the illiterate. Patients and customers believe, simply because they read or saw some information somewhere - usually on social media - that they know better. The tendency has become so strong and so prevalent that discourse in society has come to a grind ... and not the halting kind.

The question then is if everyone is an expert, are there really any experts out there? Sadly, Brooks offers examples of why the answer is a resounding no.
