This audio theatre reading/dramisation was performed by Liz Morgan and John Baddeley. It is abridged with a 87 minute running time, but the story still develops well. These shorter dramatizations are ideal for 'reading' in a single sitting and are great for relaxing bedtime, or car journeys with kids.

Originally recorded/released by Tempo/World Wide Audio (TEB 6512), but this is transferred from a later re-release by Speaking Words/Harper Collins in 1995 (Tape Word 1015) in a Word of Mouth 'Kids Collection' dual pack.

This is shared from a recording of a cassette tape, so lots of old-fashioned tape noises and hiss, but still very listenable and an enjoyable telling for childhood nostalgia and relaxation or for excitement in new generation of imaginative listeners.
