For taxpayers who owe more than $50k (look at the Streamlined Installment agreement for less than $50k) but less than $250k, the IRS has permanently authorized a non-streamlined installment agreement with no Collection Information Statement (no financials) required. If this is you and you have not yet been assigned to a Revenue Officer, this is a great time to deal with your tax problem.

The benefits are that the IRS will allow the taxpayer to use their actual expenses vs. the IRS's allowable expenses and will not have information on, or request liquidation of, the taxpayer's assets as long as the taxpayer can pay the IRS over the remaining collection statute.

Requirements include it must be personal tax debt, the taxpayer must be able to pay in full over the collection statute, the assessed tax must be less than $250k and the tax debt must be with ACS (it cannot be assigned to a Revenue Officer).
