We conclude our look at rare Bobby Darin material with this final volume. The first four songs are all the known recordings made by "The City Surfers," a group that Bobby helped put together in 1963, featuring himself on drums and backing vocals, Roger McGuinn on guitar, and Frank Gari on lead vocals. Then we move on to a live recorded from November 1963, a performance issued on a Here's to the Veterens V-disc. The Girl Who Stood Beside Me is a live performance recorded for a BBC special, and issued on album in the UK only. We go back to 1958 for an officially-unreleased outtake of Judy Don't Be Moody. When Bullmoose appeared on the Twist with Bobby Darin LP, a noticeably different take to the single was used, this time in stereo. The stereo actually takes away some of the "oomph" of the song, but it's interesting, nonetheless. 1966 brings us to a radio broadcast of a concert at the Copa, with Bobby forming a medley out of I've Got the World on a String and Yesterday. Finally, we have Let the Good Times Roll, one of the very best performances from Bobby's 1973 Tv series, but it was inexplicably edited out of the DVD release. I hope you've enjoyed these videos, and here's hoping enough rare material will appear in the future to make a volume 5. Who knows!
