"Take Me To Capri" A Sonnet of Longing BY PAUL G ROBERTS

Take me to Capri, fabled isle of dreams,
Where azure skies meet sapphire ocean's gleams.
With longing heart, I yearn to set my feet,
Upon its shores, in this poetic retreat.

Oh, Capri, blessed haven of allure,
Where beauty thrives and dreams doth endure.
Like sirens' song, your praises echo wide,
Invoking visions that within me reside.

Across the waters, on a sunlit day,
To Capri's shores my restless heart would stray.
Majestic cliffs, adorned with vibrant hue,
Whisper secrets of a paradise anew.

In Anacapri, I'd wander, lost in thought,
On cobbled streets, where history is taught.
The famed Villa San Michele, a dream to see,
To marvel at its splendor, eternally.

Beneath the Canzone del mare's soft sway,
I'd sit and watch the sun's departing ray.
As day surrenders to the twilight's grace,
Let me stay here, forever in this place.

On Marina Piccola, I'd seek solace sweet,
Bathing in the waters' gentle, cool retreat.
With every stroke, my troubles I'd release,
In Capri's sea, find inner peace, and peace.

Take me to Capri, where gardens bloom,
In colors rare, dispelling all my gloom.
Giardini di Augusto, a paradise untold,
A sanctuary of flowers, a sight to behold.

And when the night descends, with stars aglow,
In Capri's embrace, I'd never let go.
The scent of lemon trees in the air,
A fragrance that forever lingers there.

Oh, Capri, how I ache to call you mine,
To dwell in your embrace, by your design.
In every whispered breeze and gentle tide,
A love affair with you I can't deny.

Take me to Capri, where dreams come true,
Where skies are bluer and horizons new.
A beacon of hope, a sanctuary profound,
In your embrace, eternal solace found.

But alas, my longing for Capri does remain,
For now confined to thoughts that still remain.
Though distance may keep us worlds apart,
In dreams, I'll find solace, a piece of your heart.

Take me to Capri, in my soul's embrace,
And let me wander in your hallowed space.
For even from afar, I'll keep dreaming still,
Of Capri's beauty, forever to fulfill.

So, take me to Capri, in heart and mind,
A fabled isle of dreams, forever enshrined.
In every line and verse, my love shall flow,
For Capri, my eternal longing shall show.
