National Register visit 181: Malaga Cove Plaza. This collection of beautifully weather-beaten brick buildings was the first commercial center in the first subdivision of the Palos Verdes peninsula. Architecturally, the many segments of Malaga Cove Plaza work harmoniously in a broad Mediterranean revival style. All the more impressive then, that these buildings were constructed over a 40-year span from 1925-1964, and involved numerous architects working independently.

How did Malaga Cove Plaza end up so cohesive? To understand that, we need to go back to the development of Palos Verdes itself.

I'm visiting all the landmarks in LA County listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Read more about this one and many more at https://etandoesla.com/181-malaga-cov...
