Vandalism is not Art.
Vandalism is disrespecting your community.
Vandalism is damaging others property.
Vandalism is NOT something that Art Factory supports.
Graffiti is often confused with vandalism. Graffiti is has existed since ancient times. Graffiti ranges from simple written words to elaborate wall paintings. Graffiti is art that is written, painted or drawn on walls or other surfaces. Street art is a form of urban graffiti.
The confusion between graffiti and vandalism may derive from the fact that walls or surfaces are used without the permission of the property owner.
Vandalism is a Crime.
Graffiti is Art.
Question?
If an individual picks up a brick and smashes a window… Do you suggest that the person throwing the brick need the help and guidance of a contractor to help them learn how to build houses and cement walls. No. You call the police.
If an individual uses spray paint to deface public and private property with tags, scribble, and basic incoherent mark making… Do you suggest the individual is directed to the local art gallery to be educated on painting and art history? No. You call the police.
I am a professional artist. I have been painting for 30+ years. My work is collected and purchased all over the world. My work is in major collections: Church of England, Art Bank of Canada. I have won numerous international awards. I have dedicated my life to honouring and respecting art, artistic expression, and the discipline of modern and contemporary art.
I have a passion for art. I wish to share my passion for art with others, so I have spent over a million dollars of my own money to develop and build Art Factory. I try my best to be kind to others. Every day I do my best to lean on the side of compassion, respect, and love.
When I was young, I had a lot of energy. My actions were not always expressed in a positive manner. I was very fortunate to have beautiful individuals help me. It was not someone’s negative judgement that helped me grow to better myself. It was their belief, support, kindness, patience, involvement, and love that helped me.
I have worked very hard Art Factory building. I have spent thousands of hours, years of blood sweat and tears on this project. My building was one of many vandalised. White spray paint marked the once perfect metal siding with the scribble “ALONE”. I was irritated. I was not too happy about it. But I went to Home Hardware, got a can of spray paint and covered it up. Life goes on. Some kids were bored and acted out in a negative manner. But life goes on. A building is only a building. It can be fixed and repaired. But Art Factory = LIVE LOVE ART. And I am blessed to be alive. I am trying to Love in the most beautiful way I can. For me art is about expressing your soul with involvement, respect, passion, creativity, and most of all Love.
We need your involvement, not your judgement.
Our youth needs our guidance and support.
Our community is beautiful. And together we can help each other.
