The Dark Knight, released in 2008, is the second movie of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Relying mostly on Alan Moore’s graphic novel The Killing Joke, published twenty years before, this movie investigates the complex nature of the relationship between the Joker and Batman. The Dark Knight is considered by critics as one of the best superhero movies ever. A success which reflects that of the graphic novel, which was conferred the Eisner Award for 'Best Graphic Album' in 1989.
