Normally when you think of Fair Trade products, you think of coffee or chocolate. But did you know that all Peak Design bags are Fair Trade Certified?

To be Fair Trade Certified, factories must meet high social and environmental standards and are audited by a 3rd party annually to ensure compliance. Additionally, Peak Design pays a premium on all product manufactured at the factory. The money is deposited directly into an account that is managed by the workers who then vote on how the money is spent.

The footage from this video is from our factory in Vung Tau, Vietnam, which recently completed it's 2nd year of Fair Trade Certification. Achieving Fair Trade status involves a significant investment by Peak Design, but it's the factory itself who must do a bulk of the work—from establishing safety protocols, to ensuring and documenting fair worker pay, to adhering to specific environmental practices, and more. We're immensely proud of our close-knit relationship with our suppliers, which has enabled us to work together to pursue a more sustainable and responsible end-to-end business.
