Oxycontin/oxycodone took over my life. It started with just taking it with a friend in high school and escalated to wanting to do it more and more.

When an injury in football gave me a reason to get it legally from a doctor, all bets were off. I was off to the races with my own prescription. Because of the injury and untreated depression I was taking the oxy more than prescribed and taking it with alcohol.

This period of time made me become hooked and I needed it daily or else I would go into serious withdrawal. My habit and my addiction progressed to the point of using heroin...
