Since its founding in 1842, the Central State Hospital Campus (originally known as the Georgia State Lunatic, Idiot, and Epileptic Asylum) has been one of Milledgeville’s most well-known and complex sites. They closed the doors in 2010, but the buildings still stand. We got through two of them, but there was a lot to see within the two! I highly recommend looking into the history of them!
