Round 2 of some heavy lifting with our 75ton rotator, Big Flipper. This time, we aren't in an empty controlled environment and have to work a lot smarter to meet the customer's needs. The scrap machines needed to be offloaded from the trailers, then swung around and placed in specific spots.

I assisted Dave in the rigging, but for the most part just let him do his thing while I record. Again, jobs like this are pretty common for us, more so than a rollover. When lifting heavy machinery, lots of factors need to be calculated when you have to swing and set them elsewhere. Boom height, foundation, rigging, etc. As you see from the load cell, you can put quite a tremendous amount of force on your equipment which is why we always over rig.

I personally feel it's safer and stronger to use my synthetic rigging as opposed to chain for a few reasons. Straps/slings retain their working load limit better than chain, can be used in a basket to double the working load limit and can be handled much easier than a long heavy chain.
