The NBA Finals, the pinnacle of professional basketball, has often been a stage where legends are made and legacies are solidified. However, recently, there has been a growing sentiment among some fans that this year's Finals are boring. After noticing this I made a poll in the community tab asking you guys if this years finals were boring and 29% of you said yes.

It’s true that this year’s teams competing in the Finals may not have the star power or the glamour of some past matchups. The absence of big-market franchises or household names may have contributed to the perception of a lackluster event. But basketball is not merely about the names on the jerseys; it is about the game itself, the strategies and the execution.

I guarantee you, that this year's Finals will showcase basketball at its purest form. The Denver Nuggets are an absolute anomaly on the offensive end with Nikola Jokic putting up historic numbers through the playoffs and Jamal Murray who just came off the Lakers series averaging 30ppg on 50/40/90 splits. Miami is one of the best defensive teams in the league with the deepest roster I’ve seen so far and a player that will go down as one of the biggest playoff risers in NBA history.

This is the first time in decades that there hasn’t been an overly favored team to win the finals. Throughout the 2000s the Lakers and Spurs dynasties were running rampant and the LeBron vs Golden state battles of the 2010s were seemingly never-ending.

Those who label these Finals as boring fail to see the bigger picture. These finals are not to cement legacies, they are creating them. If the Denver Nuggets pull off the W against Miami, Jokic winning a ring and FMVP with 2 MVPs to go alongside it, taking the Nuggets to their first finals appearance will cement him already as one of the best offensive centers in NBA history at only 27 years old. On the other hand, if the Miami heat win, Jimmy Butler will be regarded as one of the best playoff performers in history and this ring will be considered as one of the most difficult to win next to the 2011 dallas mavericks. Going from losing in the play-in to beating the 1st seeded Bucks, ruining the dreams of many Knicks fans in round 2, going up 3-0 against the 2nd seeded Celtics and sealing the deal in game 7, and then beating the 1st seeded Denver nuggets will be one of the best championships ever won.

This year's NBA Finals should not be dismissed as boring. They are showcasing the very essence of the game. But I can understand how this can be seen as boring, for the past 13 years, there has only been one finals without LeBron or the Warriors. It feels empty, but it’s the start of the new era of basketball. I got my money on Denver but if we’ve learn anything from these playoffs, it’s that you should never bet against Jimmy.
