We left off last week with cutting, burning and installing all the posts for the railings on the platform. So naturally, the next step would be to get the railings in.... but not so fast. The platform has a bit of a smiling issue. Some may call it a sag, but we like smile better. 🙂 And while we love a good smile.. it's NOT so good when it's on your platform.
So before we got the railing installed, we had to come up with a temporary solution to make sure that everything is level, plumb and square. And yes, we use those terms loosely since we're dealing with a bunch of chainsaw milled timber, suspended 9 feet up in the air and swaying in the wind. But hey, we're doing our best!
So then it was time to get to work on the railings, which was something that.... you guessed it.... we've never done before.
The weather was mostly cooperating and we had a LOT of fun doing it! Installation took us about 2 days to complete since the kids have kept us busy with track practices and meets and their first school dance!

We did get it finished and we'd 10/10 recommend this railing system to anyone. From the installation, to the cost, and of course the look of it. It was exactly what envisioned for the treehouse!
And that wraps up another week and one step closer to a one of a kind treehouse getaway, right here in our back yard.
