Van Thinh Phat Chairman - Truong My Lan and her accomplices are accused of misappropriating VND 304,096 billion from SCB bank. This amount is so far unaffordable and also incurred interest of more than VND 129,372 billion. The total damage of the case is more than VND 433,000 billion, the largest in the history of Vietnamese. The conclusion of the police investigation showed that Ms. Truong My Lan did not have a position in SCB but was the main shareholder, with more than 1,394 million shares, equivalent to 91.536% of the charter capital owned or controlling SCB.
