In this video, I'll be showing you how to connect PS4 and PS5 controller to Steam on PC. You can connect a PlayStation controller to Steam using either a wired or wireless connection. However, it is best to connect your controller with a wire. Using a wire connection will ensure that any games with controller support will automatically detect the controller. Additionally, a direct connection is best for performance. When you connect a controller directly to your PC with a wire you will get the best performance and ensure that there are no connectivity issues.

Another option is to connect your controller to PC wirelessly with Bluetooth. Although this isn't the best method, it's still a viable option. In order to connect your PS4 or PS5 controller to your PC your computer will need to have Bluetooth. While many computers do have Bluetooth compatibility, it's not guaranteed.

You can connect a PlayStation controller to PC wirelessly by opening the Bluetooth settings. Once here you will need to click the "Add Device" button. After this your computer will begin to search for Bluetooth devices. To connect your PS4 or PS5 controller you will need to put your controller into pairing mode. This can be done by holding down the PS and Share/Create buttons at the same time. After holding down both button for a few moments the lights on the controller will begin to flash. This means that your controller is in pairing mode.

When your controller is in pairing mode it should appear as "Wireless Controller" in the Bluetooth devices menu. Selecting the controller from the menu will connect your controller to your PC.

To get your controller to work with Steam you may need to enable support. This can be done through the Steam settings. Additionally, turning on controller support in Steam may allow you to play games with controller that don't otherwise have controller support. You can enable controller support for only games without support to get your PS4 or PS5 controller to work on Steam.

However, if your controller still isn't working with a game on Steam then you can set the support option to Enable or Not Enabled. Depending on the game using either option may fix the issue. Additionally, you can turn off support for other controllers to ensure there's no issues with conflicting support settings.
