When Red Reality broke the sub-31 barrier, I thought we were done. Breaking the world record in this game is a pain. From stuff like bullies, chuckya, secrets, the excruciatingly inconsistent floor clips, and a bunch of other little annoyances made this category a pain to run at a top level. I got a little motivation after running max stars, as I realized how some of the minor inconveniences were pretty much irrelevant to the final time. But the big spark that rekindled my spirit for this category was this game being showcased on ESA. Shafournee did a casual run of the game, and chat seemed to love it. It really reminded me of the time when I was on the journey to get a respectable run. I also got motivated by the possibility of new players, but there's currently no up-to-date guide on how to speedrun this game. I was in the process of making one, but the route was in the midst of some changes, in which no video existed of the route. And that's where we are now. Shoutouts to the Mario Gun community, y'all are goated.
