This a different sort of video for me as I usually do strict tutorials or explainers. I didn't veer too far from that but I wanted to illustrate the process of installing OpenCore Legacy Patcher on an old Mac.

OpenCore 0.6 was released on Jan 23, 2023, with Mac Pros now officially supported and old wifi chipsets

The Definitive Classic Mac Pro (2006-2012) Upgrade Guide

Corrections: Bleh, I refer to my 2600 XT as a 1900 XT. I think my G5 shipped with one of those, and they had the same awful red board.

This is my first OpenCore video related to the classic Mac Pros and focused on the hardware, partly because OpenCore was in such a state of flux, and partly because by the time it had matured I'd sold my two Mac Pro 5,1s. However, I still own one classic Mac Pro, my battle tested Mac Pro 2008.

My Mac Pro 2008 has been through a lot in the nearly 15 years of owning it; a few jobs, a few cities in the nearly 15 years of owning it.
