Siri is an adult female Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who most likely smacked into a building around 2am, fell to the ground, had a screaming match with a dog who was a bit sooky and more scared than aggressive, where no actual contact seems to have occurred.
Then when she was less stunned from her collision she got her thumb trapped in between the decking planks while trying to find somewhere to climb out of her small prison.
When I got there she had her thumb well and truly stuck and her thumb was swollen and slippery making it quite difficult to wiggle it out. I rotated the thumb 90 degrees and it slid out skinny side to skinny space.
Had it not slid out easily I'd have either taken up the planks or wedged them apart. You will see at various points I press the planks down - I was trying to see if there was any "give" in them. These were recycled plastic planks and pretty solid.
Any rescue where you get the animal out quickly with minimal stress, with no further damage and nobody gets bitten or scratched, is a good rescue.

Siri is most likely pregnant - she's quite a good weight for a female and she's got no skinny little waist.
Sometimes/frequently the stress of the accident, injury and capture causes the females to abort.
Siri has gone to another carer this afternoon for 2 reasons.
One: she was agitated and unwilling to settle in the incubator.
Two: if she is pregnant, the company of other females is usually a calming influence.

Thank you Lisa and little Jack for caring for little Siri, and keeping her safe till I got there.

Addit:
Night one after rescue: her thumb is quite swollen and blistery and she's very quiet. Since she smacked into the wall we suspect she is quite concussed.
Bat wing membrane swells easily, and bat thumb injuries - even minor ones, can be very serious, sometimes ending in amputation for what seemed to be a tiny graze.

Day 2: She is still quiet but her thumb has gone down a bit. She didn't lose her baby overnight.
Day 2 evening: She deteriorated massively during the day. She died, most likely from her head injury.
