Shifting/Gear selection drove me absolutely insane years ago and I hope this helps some stuck in that same hole get out of it quicker than I did. The less time you spend thinking about shifting and the more time you spend on everything else as a new rider the safer and more enjoyable your riding will be. As a disclaimer as well since some seem unable to distinguish this, this is a video for NEW riders. I am very proud you're able to back it into corners through aggressive downshifting and stay in the powerband of your inline 4 but please save those comments for videos oriented to your skill level.
