I have been testing Samsung’s new Galaxy Buds3 FE for the past 2 weeks and I have to say, these could easily outsell the Buds3 Pro! They look almost identical and actually outperform in some ways. Let’s get into it.

For the past two weeks, I’ve been testing the new Galaxy Buds3 FE which look and feel almost identical to the premium Galaxy Buds3 Pro, but cost $100 less. And these could pretty easily become my most recommended earbuds of the year, but at launch, these didn’t seem to get much attention. So now that it’s been two weeks, how good are they? What are the problems and best features I found after two weeks of daily use?
Galaxy Buds3 FE one month later
$149, with at least $10 guaranteed trade in with any buds at all
Only goes up to $20 so don’t bother trading in anything good
DESIGN
Matte black or matte grey
No light bar
Silicone tips just like the pros
Controls are really smooth, just like the pros
Pinch or swipe
No wireless charging
Do they fit in the pro case?
IP54
COMFORT/FIT
I actually really like these
Head shake test
Comes with two other ear tip sizes
No cable in the box
SOUND
Underwhelming honestly
SBC, AAC, and SSC
Single driver instead of dual driver as seen on pros
Lacks 24 bit audio the pros have
Lacks detail and instrument separation
Muddy out of the box
Yet acoustic guitar is thin, lacking warmth and fullness
Hihat sounds splashy, uncontrolled, and in your face
Not really that bad, but I just really don’t like the sound personally
ANC
Adjustable with 5 levels in the app
49.7dB on these
Fewer artifacts than the Pro buds
52.2dB on pros
56.5dB on Bose
TRANSPARENCY
Definitely some white noise from the gain
Adjustable with 5 levels
Pretty natural sounding
The only way you’ll know you have these in is from the white noise
Actually astounding transparency for this price range
MICS
Lack SWB call capability found on the pros
Lack 360 audio recording found on the pros
FEATURES
One of the typical corners cut on cheaper products
360 audio
No app on Samsung phones - just integrated into your phone settings
Gemini voice wake up
Auto switch within samsung ecosystem
Bluetooth 5.4 - can listen to just one bud
6/24hr battery
No auracast
No adaptive noise control
Does have auto play/pause
Real time translation and other ai stuff
Find my earbuds with smart things find
Still no true multipoint connectivity (right?)
The website is wrong. They do have swipe controls, pinch controls, and auto play/pause
