Queen Moon’s Butterfly Pie from Star vs. The Forces of Evil
Serving size: 8
Total Time:

Ingredients:
Frozen/Refrigerated Pie Dough (2 packages)
1 ½ cups of each (fresh raspberries, blueberries, strawberries)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup granulated sugar
⅓ cup cornstarch
1 egg for egg wash
9 inch aluminum pie tin

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Defrost pie crust if frozen by letting sit on counter until room temp. Roll out one of the crusts and fill and drape over an 9 inch pie tin. Set aside. Fill with parchment
In a large bowl, mix fresh berries in a large bowl. Toss with cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract and lemon until evenly distributed. Scoop filling into prepared pie crust, piling the berries into a pretty round mound.
Roll out the second pie crust at least an inch and a half larger than the pie tin. Fold over once, then fold another time to place the top crust over the berry mound. Trim the edges to a 1 inch overhang. Seal the edges but pressing the top and bottom crusts together. Fold the edges under to create a tall lip. Crimp the edges by pressing the outside with your thumb and pointer, and your other pointer in the middle of it on the inside. Brush with an egg wash.
Place in oven to bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Create the butterfly by rolling the raw crust dough into a skinny, long log. Starting with the middle, twist the crust and then create each wing out of one long piece. Create antennae out of another smaller piece.
Add the butterfly to the top of the pie in the last 20 minutes of baking. Brush with a light egg wash.
