On May 20, 2023 the Costa Mesa Historical Society hosted an event on the History of Animation. The speaker was Craig Kausen and his grandfather was the famous Chuck Jones who worked at Warner Brothers Studios on the iconic Looney Tunes cartoons we love so much today.

In this video we learn about Mr. Jones humble beginnings and the many challenges he faced before becoming one of the most prolific and honored legends of the golden age of animation. With a career spanning almost 70 years, Jones created over 300 films, won four Academy Awards and was nominated for six others. Some of his most well-known characters include Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Pepe Le Pew, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner but there are so many more.

Mr. Jones died at the age of 89 in February 2022, but he leaves a legacy of brilliance, comedy, joy, color and laughter that will love on forever.

The event was held at the new Donald Dungan library in Costa Mesa.

We hope you enjoy this video.
