The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV makes some bold DC fast charging claims. Ioniq 5 charging is supposed to be quick. Today we review the Ioniq 5 charging and put this electric SUV to the test as we charge it from 0 - 100% at an Electrify America station. The Ioniq supposed goes from 10-80% in a blazing 18 minutes. We’ll plot the charging curve as the battery fills up, and see how close it comes to its maximum kW claims. We’ll also compare its charging results to another brand new EV, the Toyota bZ4X.
