An integral part of the infosec.live community, Phill has over 15 years in the IT industry, with the last 7 being dedicated to Cybersecurity.

Just short of 10 years for a multi-national FTSE 100 software company, starting in IT Support before moving to an IT Infrastructure role for 6 years and then taking on his first dedicated cybersecurity role for 2 1/2 years as a security engineer.

Phill had a short 12-month stint for a hardware vendor at the start of 2020 as a security engineer which was made difficult by COVID and an acquisition.

Then moving to a video games studio at the start of 2021 as an Information Security Specialist leading the Information and Cybersecurity programme.

He never went to university, so doesn’t have a degree, but is certified in CompTIA Sec+, CySA+ and PenTest+, as well as recently defeating the CISSP exam first time.
