Goodfellas features no shortage of memorable characters, but none is more complicated than the main character — Henry Hill. Henry tells us that he was destined for the mafia lifestyle, a lifestyle that allows him to take what he wants without resistance from the victimized. Despite having the temperament of a gangster, Henry is far different than Tommy and Jimmy, his two associates who enjoy violence and stealing. In this video, I explore the worst aspects of Henry and how he occasionally contradicts the gangster attitude by showing empathy for the weak.
