Desktop manufacturing, a quickly emerging technology, provides unique opportunities to engage students in the engineering process, allowing them to use science, technology, engineering, and math in context as they design, test, problem solve, and create real products. Fab@School, a collaborative project involving universities, non-profits, and for-profits, is developing curriculum materials, an online community space, and design software to support digital fabrication in schools.
