In April 1983 devastating wildfires took hold of the state of Victoria in south-east Australia. Of the 47 who died on that day, 21 were from Upper Beaconsfield. Survivors recount the story of one of the small town's families, the Griffiths, a newly arrived family of people from England. The programme also looks into the effects of such an encounter with one of nature's worst forces and explains why the tragedy happened
