The 2022 Honda Civic is new from the ground up, with so many new standard features it almost parallels the EX trim of just a few years ago. Value remains a Civic strongpoint, with a price tag most buyers won’t mind.

One thing that remains unchanged is Honda’s penchant for bundling popular equipment by trim. So, for example, if you want a power moonroof, you have to move to the EX. Desire rear cross-traffic alert? You’ll need to go all the way to the top Touring trim to get it. The same goes for a premium sound system and fully digital instrument cluster.

Still, the Civic offers strong resale values, extraordinary safety measures, and near bullet-proof reliability in a roomy sedan competitively priced against most rivals.
