Watch in High Definition! Here's my final video from the San Bernardino Railroad Days on April 27th and 28th, 2013. I had the privilege of being a crew member on the Tioga Pass Private Car, the ex. Canadian Pacific Business Car that made up the rear of the excursion train that accompanied the event. The excursion train was pulled by ATSF 3751, the ex. Santa Fe 4-8-4 Northern Steam Locomotive owned by the San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society. Trailing it were Metrolink F59PH 873, Private Car Pony Express, an Amtrak Horizon Car, and Private Cars Acoma, Overland Trail, and Tioga Pass.

After the walking tours through the exhibit train in San Bernardino, passengers boarded for the return trip to Los Angeles Union Station via the Metrolink San Gabriel Sub. The train departed San Bernardino at 3:00 PM sharp to an enormous fanfare and a band sendoff! I again spent most of the trip on the rear platform of the Tioga Pass, filming. This video contains all of the video that I shot on the return trip.

We first see 3751 with the train at San Bernardino. We then depart for our westbound trip. Points of interest along the way include a Union Pacific Stack train passing over us on the Palmdale Cutoff, several Metrolink Stations, a meet with a Metrolink in El Monte and the trip down the middle of the I-10 Freeway. We also stop briefly along the LA River to allow a Metrolink to depart Union Station.

This was a great ending to my awesome weekend. A special thanks again goes to Norm Orfall, the owner of the Tioga Pass, who graciously welcomed me as a crew member to accompany him on the trip. I truly enjoyed the experience.
